One of my favorite Christian groups is Casting Crowns. Their songs and lyrics speak to my soul on a personal level. The last couple months one song in particular has been a balm to my soul … “Praise You in This Storm”
For the last couple of months have been stormy, typhoon-like. However, God is sovereign and He is greater than the storms of life — whether external or internal. In fact, the disciples came to realize WHO Jesus was after a particular storm on the Sea of Galilee and said this about Him …
Matthew 8:24-27 And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep. And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish. And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm. But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!
This is what we who have a relationship with Messiah Jesus need to recognize … He is not simply the redeemer of our souls, He is the balm of our hurts.
This is why we can praise Him in the storm. This is why we must #GiveMessiahBack to the world. For they are in a storm, whether they realize it or not. They are in a tornado of their own making. They are in the eye of the hurricane. They are in the path of the volcano’s lava path. They are standing on the earthquake’s fault line. And unless we provide them the map to the pathway to the refuge known as Messiah Jesus, they will be swallowed up by the storm called Hell.
#GiveMessiahBack because we can indeed #PraiseHimintheStorm.
