Chabad Houses Springing Up Everywhere … So Why Can’t the Truth of Messiah Jesus?

In an effort to present the need of Jewish evangelism/missions to a pastor in NW Arkansas, I did a little research on the growing presence of Jewish people in this area. And much to my surprise, I discovered there is a Chabad House in Rogers, AR, designed to reach the Jewish people of SW Missouri and NW Arkansas with the message of Menachem Schneerson.
Now I realize that I need to do a great deal of explaining about the Ultra-Orthodox teachings of the Lubavitch (Hasidic sect of Judaism) and their deceased leader Menachem Schneerson (d. 1994); however, what struck me to the core is that Lubavitch Jews are willing to go everywhere a Jewish soul might be in order to tell the message of their leader but Christians who have the truth of Messiah Jesus will not. What is wrong with this picture?
And people wonder why my sleep is often disturbed with the overwhelming reality and burden of Jewish missions?! Have we as believers in Jesus forgotten the truth of John 14:6; Acts 4:12; Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; Romans 1:16 (especially this one); and Romans 9-11? If I did not know any better, I would think that the Lubavitch have a better clue about these marching orders than most Christians.

The enemy is certainly not sitting on his tush. He is active and out there, pulling people away from the One, True God. But we Christians seem to be taking our sweet time, not at all burdened or hurried to share God’s redemption with our neighbors. I don’t know if we assume everyone has heard of Christ by now, or whether we figure someone else will share the gospel. Or if we don’t actually believe God when He says that it is only those who believe in His Son who will be saved. Maybe it’s that we just don’t care about anyone else…

Lisa,
You know that when I read you can find Chabad Houses in the Virgin Islands and Alaska and everywhere, I can’t help but believe you are right. What are we going to do? Seriously, what?
